Private church-pilot testing is opening. Thresher is pre-release software.
Scripture and service presentation for Windows church booths
Scripture, surfaced as it is spoken.
Thresher listens in the booth, recognises the passage your preacher is reading, and places it in front of your operator to preview and send to the screen. Sermon notes, lyrics, media and every output share one calm console.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Product demonstration
From the pulpit to the screen, with a person in the loop
Step through the core moment below, or open the interactive demo to run a whole simulated service in your browser. The browser demo is simulated: it never asks for your microphone and cannot drive real displays.
The preacher says “John chapter three, verse sixteen.”
Speech is transcribed on the booth PC. The transcript stays on the operator’s screen and never reaches the congregation.
Transcript
…and turn with me to John chapter three, verse sixteen.

How it works
Listen. Recognise. Review. Present.
Listen
Thresher transcribes the sermon feed on the booth computer with a local speech model. No internet connection is needed for local recognition.
Recognise
Explicit references are detected as they are spoken, and suggestions are ranked from what is being said, each with its match reason.
Review
Manual review is the default: an operator previews and approves. Auto mode is opt-in, gated, and freezes itself when conditions are uncertain.
Present
Approved content goes to the Audience output, while Stage and Stream outputs follow their own profiles.
Scripture intelligence
Built for the way preachers actually say references
Spoken references
“John chapter three, verse sixteen”, “Psalm twenty-three” and verse ranges are understood from speech, including numbers said as words.
Context within a chapter
Once a chapter is being read, a later “verse seven” resolves inside that chapter instead of guessing a new book.
Suggestions from what is said
When a verse is quoted or paraphrased, matching passages are ranked with scores. Matching works best when the spoken words share words with the verse; loose paraphrases may not match.
Chapters and ranges, paginated
Long passages are split into readable slides and verses-per-slide is configurable, so a chapter never arrives as a wall of text.
Safe Auto mode
Auto only acts when you arm it, and it freezes when a speech provider falls back or a display disconnects. Manual presentation keeps working.
An offline Bible
The World English Bible (public domain), all 66 books and 31,098 verses, ships inside the app with verified checksums.
Complete service presentation
The whole service, not just the verse
Thresher is designed to carry a Sunday from the welcome to the benediction from one booth.
Sermon notes
Present PDF and image notes page by page. Word and PowerPoint files are converted when a local converter is installed on the booth PC.
Scripture that interrupts, then returns
Send a verse live in the middle of the notes, then return to the exact notes page, lyric slide or media position you left.
Lyrics and service rundown
Build a rundown of songs, readings, notes and media. Lyrics are arranged into sections and slides, with live and next clearly marked.
Images, video and audio
A local media library for backgrounds, announcements, video and audio, with playback that stays operator-controlled.
Timers and overlays
Countdown and service timers that keep accurate time, plus lower-third overlays that work independently of the main slide.
Output profiles
One program, three purpose-built outputs
Audience
The congregation screen shows only approved content: never transcripts, scores, operator messages or errors.
Stage
A confidence monitor for the platform with current and next content and a clock. It stays visible during Blackout.
Stream
A fullscreen or lower-third layout for your broadcast, following the program linkage you choose.
Output safety you can predict
- Blank and Clear live cover Audience and Stream by default, or Audience only if you choose.
- Emergency Blackout always covers Audience and Stream.
- Freeze holds the Audience screen only.
- The active scope is shown beside each control.
Using OBS or another capture tool? The Thresher Projector and Thresher Stream windows can be captured with OBS Window Capture. OBS is never required.
Offline and privacy
Your church’s service stays in your building
Local by default
The Bible text, search index and speech model are installed on the booth PC. Local recognition runs without an internet connection.
Transcripts stay in the booth
What the microphone hears is shown to the operator only. The congregation sees nothing until a person, or armed Auto mode, approves it.
Optional connected speech
Churches can choose a connected speech provider for recognition. Audio is sent to that provider only while it is selected; local recognition remains the fallback.
Diagnostics without audio
Diagnostics exports leave out audio and are only shared when someone deliberately sends them.
Built for church production teams
Calm for volunteers. Precise for producers.
Readiness at a glance
Before the service, readiness checks cover the Bible corpus, search index, speech model, microphone and displays.
Keyboard-first operation
Listen, search, preview, send live, clear and blackout all have shortcuts, so the next action never depends on finding a button.
Recovers without a restart
Microphone and display problems are designed to recover in place, holding the current slide rather than dropping to black.
Booth acceptance workflow
A built-in checklist records real hardware evidence for each booth, and refuses to count a simulated or shortened run as a pass.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is Thresher available today?
Not publicly. Thresher is pre-release Windows software. Private church-pilot testing is opening now, and testers receive builds through an invite-only download portal.
Does Thresher need an internet connection?
Local speech recognition, the Bible text and search run on the booth PC without internet. Connected speech providers, if a church chooses one, need a connection.
Which Bible translation and languages are supported?
Today Thresher includes the World English Bible, a public-domain translation, and local recognition is English only. Other translations and languages are not available yet.
Will verses appear on screen automatically?
Only if you choose. Manual review is the default. Auto mode must be armed by the operator, applies safety gates, and freezes itself when a provider falls back or a display disconnects.
Do we need OBS?
No. OBS is optional. If you stream with OBS, you can capture the Thresher Projector and Stream windows with Window Capture.
What hardware do we need?
A Windows 11 x64 PC in the booth, a microphone or sound-desk feed, and a display output for the congregation screen. Pilot testing is confirming requirements across real booths.
Does Thresher record or upload our services?
Thresher does not upload your service audio. Diagnostics exports exclude audio. Audio goes to a connected speech provider only if your church selects one.
Is the web demo the real software?
The demo runs a simulated service in your browser to show the workflow. It never uses your microphone and cannot send anything to real displays. The real software is the Windows app.
How much will Thresher cost?
Pricing has not been announced.

Help shape Thresher in a real booth
We are inviting a small number of churches and production volunteers to test pre-release builds on their own Windows booth PCs and report what they find. Testers agree to testing terms before downloading.
